EY Launches Corporate Finance Woman Of Year Competition

Ernst and Young, EY, has launched its inaugural Corporate Finance Woman of the Year, CFWY, competition in the UAE. The initiative focuses on encouraging more Emirati women to pursue careers in transaction services and corporate finance in the private sector.

The competition, which targets university students, offers them the opportunity to challenge conventional ways of thinking and contribute to a better working world.

The universities participating in the competition include Abu Dhabi University, the American University in Dubai, the American University of Sharjah, Higher Colleges of Technology, New York University Abu Dhabi, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates University, and Zayed University.

Maya Whiteley, Partner, Transaction Advisory Services, UAE CFWY Sponsor at EY, said, "The CFWY competition was created by EY to reward and encourage the next generation of female transactions professionals while also showcasing the calibre of Emirati female talent we have in the UAE. It is a testament to our continued commitment to providing young Emiratis with a platform to expand their knowledge of corporate finance and understand the opportunities across Transaction Advisory Services."

After submitting an individual case study and group activity, the group of finalists will compete at national level in the UAE in January. The winning applicant will compete at the global level against the country winners from Australia, Germany, Norway, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
